It’s time for another look at which digital comics Comixology has on sale right now. What are the good reads and what are the good buys? We’ll be taking a look mostly at the sales that are ending by Thursday and what an eclectic set of digital comics it is.

Marvel’s all over the map right now, with sales on Namor, Star Wars and some of Spider-Man’s clone escapades. We’re also going to start looking at the many Halloween sales, starting with the “Submit Horror Sale” where you really need a scorecard.
First up, let’s look at the “Marvel’s Namor Sale.” (Sub-Mariner if you’re not on a first name basis.) Lots of good stuff with this one. I’m a huge fan of the recent Chip Zdarsky/Butch Guice/Carlos Magnos Invaders series from last year, which the sales charts indicate most people slept on. This one wraps up a lot of stray threads from Namor’s appearances in the last several years and it’s a nice callback to the classic Invaders series, which isn’t in the sale. The best deal is to get the two “Collected Editions.” You also might want to check out Namor under his creator, Bill Everett. Sub-Mariner: Golden Age Masterworks Vol. 1 collects the first four issues of that 1940’s hit for $2.99. Sub-Mariner Masterworks Vol. 7 gives you Everett’s return to Namor in the 70s. This sale ends on Sunday (10/11).
Next, let’s have a look at the “Submit Horror Sale.” As far as Comixology sales go, this one is pretty darn big. 1,281 items big. It’s worth a browse to see if something catches your eye, but you need to set some time aside for that (and I’d recommend using the “See what’s inside” feature). In the meantime, let me point out a few things of note.
I recently started reading Edgar Allan Poe’s Snifter of Terror and I’ve been liking it. A besotted Poe introduces satirical horror stories with top flight talent like Mark Russell rotating through the stories. Your best deal is getting them as $0.99 single issues.
Like The Matrix? Lilly and Lana Wachowski have done some comics work and their Doc Frankenstein, with art by Steve Skroce.
Evil Inc is Brad Guigar’s long-running webcomic, which also has a more comic book formatted digital edition for $0.49 a pop right now.
John Carpenter at Halloween? Yes, the iconic horror director has his entire Storm King comics imprint on sale. The roster of talent includes Steve Niles, Louise Simonson, Bruce Jones, Leonardo Manco, Darick Robertson and Duane Swierczynski, among others.
Finally, there a couple volumes of the popular Kickstarted comic Cthulhu is Hard To Spell. You’ll have until 11/2 to shift through this particular sale.
Like Star Wars? The Marvel Star Wars sale has essentially the entire ’15-’19 run (and tie-ins) on sale. If you have to pick and choose, I always like the crossovers with Darth Vader and Doctor Aphra best. This one runs until Thursday (10/15).
You were more in the market for Spidey? The Marvel Spider-Man: Clone Saga sale is centered around one of the more controversial Spider-Man arcs. A lot of Ben Reilly, the 90s Clone epic and I personally prefer the original Clone Saga. Tastes vary widely on this one. The sale runs through Sunday (10/11)
If you’re in the mood for DC, their Scott Snyder sale is still running through Monday (10/12).
