Kelly Marie Tran Star Wars Rose TicoKelly Marie Tran recently commented on whether or not she is open to reprising her Rose Tico role in a future Star Wars project.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is still being talked about to this day with one element of the movie some people can’t seem to agree on— Kelly Marie Tran’s role as Rose Tico. Some have gone as far as to call Rose the worst character in Star Wars, but that hasn’t stopped Crazy Rich Asians director Jon M. Chu from wanting to see a Disney Plus series centered on her.

Part of why some fans want to see more of Kelly Marie Tran as Rose Tico is because of her reduced role in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Chris Terrio has gone onto say that Rose’s small role was because of the unused Carrie Fisher footage Tran shared scenes with. While speaking with Collider, Kelly Marie Tran reacted to Jon M. Chu’s interest in a Rose Tico series:

“He’s so cool. I don’t know. I honestly don’t know. It’s so strange. I had so much fun being in that world but I feel like the pieces would have to fall into a perfect little puzzle and everything would have to feel like it’s the right time and the right moment and the right story, like with any other project. But I don’t know.”

Kelly Marie Tran also commented on if there is a future for Rose Tico in the Star Wars franchise:

“Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. I think there are a lot of characters in that universe that we have yet to hear enough about.”
